Turkey-China Business Conference Takes Place in Istanbul to Boost Trade

(MENAFN) The third edition of the Türkiye–China Business Conference took place in Istanbul on Saturday, bringing together representatives from the business sectors of both countries along with numerous entrepreneurs.

According to official statements, the gathering included senior figures from China’s trade promotion institutions as well as a broad delegation of business leaders from both sides.

Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said the meeting came at a symbolic moment, marking 55 years of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and China.

Sharing his views on social media, Bolat said: “As Türkiye and China enter the 55th year of their diplomatic relations, our expectation from this important meeting is that these contacts will turn into concrete partnerships, new investments, and agreements that enhance the quality of mutual trade.”

He added that he hopes the conference will pave the way for fresh opportunities and long-term cooperation between the two business communities.

China’s ambassador to Türkiye, Jiang Xuebin, also underlined the importance of the event, noting that it provided a valuable platform for exchanging perspectives on how to further develop bilateral economic and trade ties.

Referring to initiatives put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in areas such as global development, security, civilization, and governance, Xuebin said these initiatives “offer ideas for advancing a more open, inclusive, equitable, balanced, and win-win path of development.”

Speaking at the conference, he noted that China is Türkiye’s largest trading partner and said Chinese firms operating in Türkiye make meaningful contributions to the local economy through job creation and tax revenues.
