Settlers Attack, Soldiers Assault Result in Three Injures in West Bank
In the village of al-Mughayyir, located northeast of Ramallah, local officials report that settlers open fire toward residents, leaving two people wounded. Amin Abu Alia, head of the village council, describes the escalating situation.
“The situation is bad. Gunfire is ongoing on the southern side of the village. There are two injuries—a child and a young man who was shot in the back and is in critical condition,” Abu Alia said.
Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, the Palestine Red Crescent Society states that another Palestinian man suffers injuries after being physically assaulted by settlers in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron. The organization adds that Israeli military personnel hinder its emergency teams as they attempt to reach and treat the injured individual.
Later that day, videos shared by Palestinian media show two Israeli soldiers confronting and beating a Palestinian man while he is seated inside his vehicle in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus. The footage appears to capture one soldier kicking the man and using his weapon to shatter the vehicle’s window.
Beit Furik Mayor Aref Hanni says the incident takes place in the afternoon without any apparent provocation. He notes that it occurs in the western section of the town, close to the Israeli settlement of Itamar.
